Rajesh Kumar Singh is a freelance photographer documenting Varanasi, a city located on the banks of the Ganges in Northern India and dubbed as the spiritual capital for the country. While it is believed to be where Buddhism was founded in 528 BC and is home to celebrations and temples for many religions, Varanasi is also a large industrial and manufacturing outpost. Rajesh Kumar Singh’s images portray the dualities of this city and present the marginalized and impoverished individuals of the area.
