Sanna, Anthony
American, 1948-2020
Anthony Sanna received his BFA from the University of Utah and his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design where he studied under Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind. After earning his BFA, Sanna formed a relationship with Minor White while attending his Zen-photography workshops and traveling with him. Additionally, Sanna learned from Eliot Porter through conversations about photography and observing him create dye-transfer color prints. During his two years as a graduate student, Sanna was Siskind’s assistant, after which they traveled together and made photographs in the American West and Mexico.
