About the Photographer

Evron, Assaf

Israeli, b. 1977

Assaf Evron’s work examines levels of perception through various art theories and photographic mediums. This image from his Visual Pyramid series takes inspiration from Italian Renaissance figure Leon Batista Alberti. To create this image, Evron used an infrared camera to capture the beams of light emitted by an Xbox Kinect on everyday objects. In doing so, this brilliant purple image embodies Alberti’s theory of linear perspective in action. Evron completed his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2013) and his BA from Tel Aviv University (2007). He lives and works in Tel Aviv and Chicago.
