About the Photographer
Everett, Daniel
U.S. Citizen, b. 1980
Daniel Everett examines transitory spaces found in the urban environment, such as subway platforms and parking lots, that have an often-subconscious presence in people’s daily lives. These places, where form is often follow function, are considered less for design or aesthetics and more for their utilitarian purposes. Everett uses photography, video, sculpture, and installation to elevate these spaces and to create poetic moments in an otherwise pragmatic landscape. Everett has been included in exhibitions at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (2015) and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2010), among many others.
