Blacklow, Laura A.

American, b. 1945 Washington, D.C.

Laura Blacklow completed a BFA in Painting at Boston University and an MFA in Photography at the Visual Studies Workshop at the State University of New York, Buffalo. She photographs in both black and white and color, and has worked with printing methods that originated in the 19th century, such as platinum/palladium and Van Dyke Brown print processes. In addition to her practice as an artist, Blacklow has also been an educator at a number of institutions, including Harvard University, Art Institute of Boston at Lesley College, and Massachusetts College of Art. She is currently a professor at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
